general maintenance & Repairs

It always seems like something needs fixing when you own a house. I can replace that broken doorknob, or fix that hole your kids accidentally put in the wall playing samurai  warriors.

drywall repair

I can do small drywall repairs. For when your friend helps you with carrying the mattress down the stairs and you accidentally drop it cartwheeling it down the stairs till the corner knocks a hole in the wall the size of your head. For bigger things, I can recommend a good person.

Doors & Windows
So your daughter is into rock climbing. So much so that she traversed across the door jamb and ripped the trim off. I can fix that. Does your door provide free air conditioning in the winter? Does the door have an attitude and not close all the way? Let me put it in its place.
Dryer vent cleaning

Fire! This one is no joke; clothes dryer fires are more common than you might think. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reports that dryers cause an average of 14,692 house fires a year, and an average of $200 million in property damage. One third(32%) were due to a failure to clean. Always clean the lint filter between every use. You should have the vent cleaned at least once a year to prevent buildup and potential fire hazards.

Power Washing
Are you wiping your feet when you come in after just walking on your deck? Maybe it’s time to give it a power wash. Or maybe you forgot what color the side of your house really is. Maybe your tired of looking at your concrete steps that are black.

Home improvement

Need a new color in the bedroom? Maybe it’s time you got those pictures hung up.

Painting
As much as the crayon drawings from your kids warm your heart, maybe it’s time to paint that wall. I can paint an accent wall or single room. Larger jobs considered, but no ceilings, I like my neck.
Finish carpentry
Moulding around doors windows etc.
Picture hanging
I think the title speaks for itself.
blinds/curtains
Is your neighbor asking if you dance professionally or just in your kitchen? Maybe it’s time for a little more privacy.
Trimabush/ wackaweed
I’m not into doing landscape work, but if you just have that one bush that has scratched your car one too many times, or a small tree just fell down and its blocking your way to the hot tub, I might be able to help. Think of those jobs that a landscaper isn’t going to want to come over for.

Furniture assembly & Repair

Left over screws from that IKEA furniture?  Maybe your chairs are wobbly?

Furniture assembly
When you find the furniture you like, you don’t always have the option to have it assembled, or maybe your partner had the brilliant idea to save money on a put-it-together-yourself piece of furniture and now it looks nothing like it did in the picture. Let me put it together for you with care.
Furniture repair
Is the door to the old armoire loose or not closing?  Perhaps a piece broke off of your grandmothers old rocker. Maybe the metal patio furniture broke. Before Grandpa sits down in that wobbly chair, let me fix it so he doesn’t have to press his panic button.

Testimonials

I’ve worked with James a few times and was very happy with the results. James hung blinds and was able to quickly figure out how to make changes to the pieces provided in order to accommodate my windows. He’s hung numerous mirrors and pictures, and has advised me on the purchase of lawn equipment and care as I’m a new home owner. He has a great personality and is easy to work with.

I called (James) to fix a coat hanger to the wall, the thing would fall off now and then due to being poorly installed (by me) 4 years or so ago.
He came promptly when he said he would.
After looking at the problem (James) started making some measurements and explained why the coat hanger wasn’t staying in place: the factory holes were off by about half an inch or so…
Despite that (James managed to re-use them by enlarging them slightly and therefore reach the stud while still saving the furniture’s appearance.
Coat hanger is now solidly screwed to the wall.
During the process, (James) asked pertinent questions so as to save me time and money and gave a clear answer to all my questions (and I had a bunch).
He even vacuumed the spot afterwards and left the place all neat and clean.
And the best is that his rates are very fair! Perfect for all these jobs you plan on doing one day but never get to.
James is also a talented Artisan and creates custom pieces of any kind for your home and decor.
Give him a call you won’t regret it!
